Our house
Our house is located in the historic ensemble of Lindauer Straße in the centre of Oberstaufen. Here in the pedestrian zone, a touch of French flair awaits you behind a simple Bavarian-Swabian façade on the first floor, our Bel Etage – from the furnishings to the attitude to life.
Since the beginning of 2023, holidaymakers and business travellers have found a temporary home away from home here in individually furnished rooms. You will stay in a very special ambience – with beautiful furniture full of history and character, surrounded by paintings, graphics and handicrafts.
Le Bouveret and its flair
Welcome to Le Bouveret! Le Bouveret – these are the apartments on the first floor, the Bel Etage of my residence in the centre of Oberstaufen. Behind a simple, typically Bavarian-Swabian facade, a touch of French flair awaits you – from the furnishings to the attitude towards life.
As a master carpenter I love wood and beautiful, old furniture with history and character. Some special pieces from my inventory have now found their place in the apartments, which I have furnished with great attention to detail to my taste. You will live there surrounded by paintings, graphics and handicrafts, another of my passions. In this way, each of the apartments has developed its own individual style and character, which is also expressed in their names. I have grown fond of Louis, Louise and Chipp.
When I bought the property and moved to Oberstaufen, I fulfilled a dream. I spent three years renovating it from the ground up. It was important to me to install modern kitchens and bathrooms as well as future-proof house and energy technology – from solar power and a wood pellet heating system to a powerful network including wifi. At the same time, I attached great importance to preserving as much of the old substance as possible. My aspiration was that the building should still fit harmoniously into the historic ensemble of Lindauer Strasse.
Old and new, tradition and modernity, regionality and cosmopolitanism meet at Le Bouveret. This also applies to our colorfully mixed house community. In addition to German and English, we also speak Vietnamese, a little French and Swedish.
At the turn of the year 2022/2023, we completed the renovation of the main building. Since then, we look forward to welcoming guests who find a second home for a time in our apartments. Holidaymakers and tourists from all over the world who want to explore Oberstaufen and the Allgäu, as well as business travelers who, in addition to work, attach importance to a well-kept and cozy ambience – you are all welcome here.
It is very important to us to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The beautiful landscape and lush nature of the Allgäu do the rest. Restaurants, cafés and rustic alpine inns provide for your physical well-being. Or you can buy milk, cheese, fruit, vegetables and other high-quality food from local production in small stores, farm stores, alpine dairies or on Fridays at the weekly market right on our doorstep.
The region offers many varied leisure activities. Just as well, in our place with its long spa tradition, you can simply relax and practice laissez-fair and savoir-vivre. Depending on what you feel like at the moment. Yes, here it is truly good to live, work and spend your holidays.
A proverb raves about “living like God in France.” Whoever coined these words: He or she knew neither the Allgäu nor Oberstaufen and Le Bouveret.
